The most modern WLAN system in Europe has been installed in the Galerie Hotel Leipziger Hof in Leipzig.
The system, which has come directly from the development department of 'bittorf wireless', a spin-off of the Ilmenau University of Technology, is based on the latest mesh technology. "Mesh" denotes a meshwork of system access points, which are connected to each other wirelessly and are self-organising, thus making the network both fail-safe and extremely powerful. The laying of network cables throughout the building is therefore unnecessary.
Guests staying at the hotel can now "surf" to their hearts' content in over 100 hotel rooms as well as in the hotel grounds. The director of the hotel - an emeritus professor of physics - was not only fascinated by the technical characteristics of the devices used, but also by the efficient and neat set-up of the system.
